Terry L. Brown
Terry L. Brown, PE, joined Syracuse University’s Whitman School of Management as Executive Director of the Falcone Center for Entrepreneurship in May 2012. In this role he oversees the Couri Hatchery which currently has over 120 student and alumni companies, the D’Aniello Internship Program, the South Side Innovation Center, the WISE (Women igniting the Spirit of Innovation) Women’s Business Center, and WISE Symposium.
Prior to joining the Falcone Center, Brown was involved in numerous entrepreneurial projects, held several high-level positions at O’Brien & Gere from 1975 to 2011 (including chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President) and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Brown has extensive experience in executive leadership, project management, strategic planning, marketing, branding, development, mergers and acquisitions, and developing business models. He holds three patents.
Brown has received numerous awards, including Clarkson University’s Most Prestigious Alumni (2002); PSMJ Resources, Inc.’s award for CEO of the Year for Outstanding Leadership in the Design Industry; and the ESGR Patriotic Employer Award. Additionally, Brown is involved with professional and civic groups such as CenterState CEO, and the Business Council of New York State. He earned a bachelor’s degree in civil and environmental engineering from Clarkson University and is a registered professional engineer (PE) in New York and New Jersey.
